Recipe of Makhani Gravy

Basic makhani gravy is a silky, buttery, creamy tomato-based gravy and is commonly used in many Veg and Non-Veg recipes such as Paneer Makhani, Butter Chicken.


Clove 5 pc
Bay leaf 1 pc
Black cardamom 1 pc
Cinnamon stick 1 pc
Mace 1 pc
Green cardamom 5 pc
Tomatoes chopped 1 kg
Ginger garlic paste 10 gm
Red chilli powder 5 gm
Green chillies chopped 2
Deghi mirch 1 tsp
Cashewnuts paste 50 gm
Butter 150 gm
Cream 150 ml
Salt to taste
Honey 1 tbsp.
Kasoori  methi dried 1 tsp


  1. Take a handi to add tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, green chillies, red chilli powder, salt, whole garam masala, and 1-liter water.
  2. Cook till 30 min on low heat or becomes thick.
  3. Strain the gravy.
  4. Add honey butter and cream cook for 4-5 min.
  5. Sprinkle dried methi.
  6. Serve with Indian bread.
