Divine Navratri Vrat Thali: Sabudana Khichdi Recipe for Fasting Bliss
Ingredients:
1 cup sabudana (tapioca pearls)
2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
1/2 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely crushed
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2-3 green chilies, chopped
8-10 curry leaves
2 tablespoons ghee (or oil)
Salt to taste (sendha namak for fasting)
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped Sabudana Khichdi
Method:
Soak: Soak 1 cup sabudana in water for 4-6 hours. Drain.
Cook: Heat 2 tbsp ghee. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds, 2-3 chopped green chilies, 8-10 curry leaves, and 2 diced potatoes. Sauté until potatoes are cooked.
Mix: Add soaked sabudana, ½ cup crushed peanuts, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes until translucent.
Serve: Add 1 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, and garnish with coriander.
Finish the Khichdi:
Add sugar (if using) and lemon juice. Mix gently.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
Serve: Serve hot with yogurt or green chutney.
Sabudana Vada Recipe | Navratri 2024
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sabudana (tapioca pearls)
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/2 cup roasted peanuts, coarsely crushed
- 2-3 green chilies, chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon fresh coriander leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste (sendha namak for fasting)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Ghee or oil for frying
How to make it:
Soak: Soak 1 cup sabudana for 4-6 hours. Drain.
Mix: Combine soaked sabudana, 2 mashed potatoes, ½ cup crushed peanuts, 2-3 chopped chilies, 1 tsp cumin, coriander, and salt.
Shape: Form small patties.
Fry: Deep fry in hot oil until golden.
Serve: Serve hot with yogurt or chutney.

Ingredients:
- 1 cup sabudana (tapioca pearls)
