On 31st July 2019, NFCI Hotel Management and Culinary Institute organised its monsoon special Inter-Campus Culinary Competition – Mango Fest 2019.
The journey for the finale started with preliminary round at campus level with the theme of Mangos as the major ingredients. An executive chef from a reputed hotel was invited to Judge and grad the dishes based on: Presentation, plating-portion size, taste, viva and Uniform & Grooming.
Top 5 students from each campus were representing their centre as a team.
Total number of 50 students participated in the finale forming 10 teams (one team from each centre)
All the teams were given the theme of nature, greenery and traditional dishes using “mangos, sabja (basil seeds) and rock salt” as the base ingredients for the finale. All teams have to present a 4-course menu for 2 pax only.
The following Judges were invited for the finale:
- Chef Rahul Rawat – Executive Chef, Radisson Hotel
- Mr. Rajeev Wadhawan – HR Head, Radisson Hotel
- Ms. Seema Soni – Programming Director, Radio City
All teams presented their creativity in the form of traditional dishes and food presentation.
Chef Rahul Rawat was impressed with the creativity of the students and he gave suggestions to the students as well.
