“Love is not just about saying ‘I love you’; it’s about showing
it every day, and Karwa Chauth is the perfect day to do just that.”

Karwa Chauth 2025 Celebration

Karwa Chauth is a Hindu festival that celebrates love, devotion, and the sacred bond between partners, especially married couples.  Karwa Chauth 2025 will be observed on October 10th. As Karwa Chauth 2025 approaches, married women get excited about the rituals whether it’s fasting for your loved one or sharing a beautiful moonlight moment. This festival is more than just a ritual – it’s a heartfelt celebration that brings partners closer.

Planning a perfect Karwa Chauth gift for your partner or looking for Sargi recipes for fasting? In this blog, we’ll cover everything about Sargi recipes, moon-viewing rituals, and thoughtful gift ideas for your partner.

The Significance of Karwa Chauth

This traditional festival is observed by married Hindu women. They observe a “Nirjala fast” (without food and water) from sunrise to moonrise for the well-being, long life, and happiness of their husbands. The day is full of rituals, including the Karva Chauth puja, the morning Sargi moment, dressing up in traditional attire, and sharing stories of love and devotion. Some unmarried women also observe the Karwa Chauth fast and pray to God for a good and ideal husband. Husbands can also observe this fast for their wives to show their love. The day strengthens the sacred bond between the husband and the wife.

The Significance of Karwa Chauth

Women begin their day with Karwa Chauth Sargi, a pre-dawn meal prepared with love, which is essential to sustain them through the day-long fast. Karwa Chauth Sargi typically includes nutritious and energy-packed foods like fruits, dry fruits, nuts, milk-based items, and traditional sweets.

From a health perspective, this fast provides rest to the digestive system, which is considered beneficial for cleansing and improving metabolism.

Moon Viewing Ritual Steps: A Special Moment

Moon Viewing Ritual Steps: A Special Moment

The most awaited part of Karwa Chauth is the moon sighting. An evening moment between husband and wife. Women wear festive clothes, often in red or other traditional colors, and adorn themselves with jewelry and bangles. Here are the steps:

  • Choose a clear spot to view the moon. Ensure the moon is visible from your home balcony, terrace, or a nearby open space.
  • When the moon rises, the woman looks at it with devotion through a sieve (Chalni). She then gazes at her husband, symbolizing love and gratitude.
  • The woman offers water (Arghya) to the moon. Immediately after, the husband gives her water or the first sip along with Prasad or fruits, symbolizing the breaking of her fast. He traditionally feeds her the first morsel of food or water.
  • After this, the woman completes her fast, and the couple enjoys a light meal together.
