Finding the Right Time to Welcome Lord Ganesha:

Ganpati Chaturthi Pooja Muhurat at 11:02 am to 1:30pm on Saturday 7th September. On this day, you can also make Lord Ganesha sit in your house and worship him with great pomp every day till Anant Chaturdashi.

According to belief, you can bid farewell to your father by worshiping Lord Ganesha for 1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 11 days. Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 16th September and Ganesha will be bid farewell on this day.

On Visarjan Day, it is said that Lord Ganesh returns to Kailash following a ten-day earthly sojourn! It represents the circle of life, death, and birth. Visarjan, which translates to “immersion,” refers to the procession of statues through the streets on Anant Chaturdashi, the last day, while a lot of singing and dancing is performed.

Ganpati Visarjan – Don’ts

  1. Don’t say goodbye to Lord Ganesha without doing a pooja and giving his idol some bhog.
  2. Take a coconut, circle it around the idol’s head three times, and then smash it on the ground. Immerse the coconut with the idol instead of eating it like a prasad.
  3. Refrain from consuming alcohol and tobacco during this sacred time.
  4. Do not pollute roads and water bodies by lighting crackers, throwing garlands and flowers.
  5. Avoid wearing synthetic clothing as it tends to catch fire easily. Refrain from wearing them and from engaging in any fire-related activities, such as doing aarti, especially if you plan to light crackers.
